ECO-LED is division of MI Distributing of the Mid-West, and has been manufacturing LED lighting since 1999. Our goal is to deliver the latest innovations in LED lighting technology. In a time of increased awareness of energy costs and the toll existing energy methods on the environment, ECO-LED offers a unique and “win win” solution to today’s energy challenges. By simply replacing traditional incandescent bulbs with ECO-LED products a home or business can make their structure more energy efficient while bringing lighting costs down by up to 90%!
The primary benefits of ECO-LED replacement bulbs are:
- Extremely long life in excess of 50,000 hours
- ECO-LED products use a fraction of the power of traditional light bulbs
- ECO-LED products contain no hazardous substances
- ECO-LED products produce little waste heat thus further reducing cooling costs
- The light provided by ECO-LED products have amazing clarity and definition
ECO-LED and MI Distributing of the Mid-West is headquarted in Waukegan, IL USA.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy - LED Basics
Add beauty naturally with ECO-LED® lamps... better for us and the Earth !
You'll feel better every time you turn them on. They are friendly to the ecology... and they'll save you big money.
- ECO-LED® lamps use color Light Emitting Diodes (LED's) so no gels are needed. No waste or re-gel time. Dollars saved.
- ECO-LED® lamps use from 75% to 90% less power. Less power use means much less electricity used. Dollars saved.
- ECO-LED® lamps emit little or no ultra-violet (UV) light so costumes, scenery, drapes and stage curtains have less fading and enjoy longer use-life. Dollars saved.
- Since ECO-LED® lamps give off very little heat as compared to ordinary incandescent lamps, venues use less air-conditioning power for cooling. Dollars saved.
- ECO-LED® lamps throw off very small amounts of warmth. Live performance stages remain cooler. Performers are more comfortable.
Yes, these benefits and many more can be yours. And yes, our lamps may cost more initially. But when you install an ECO-LED® lamp, you can forget it for 10 years or more !
Think of the time and labor saved in contrast with frequent re-lamping with incandescents and the extra initial cost fades. This new technology is the wave of the future. It is the first innovation in lamps since Thomas A. Edison invented the light bulb. And it's environmentally friendly.
About LEDs
A light-emitting diode (LED), is an electronic light source. The first LED was built in the 1920s by Oleg Vladimirovich Losev, a radio technician who noticed that diodes used in radio receivers emitted light when current was passed through them. The LED was introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962.
All early devices emitted low-intensity red light, but modern LEDs are available across the visible, ultraviolet and infra red wavelengths, with very high brightness.
LEDs are based on the semiconductor diode. When the diode is forward biased (switched on), electrons are able to recombine with holes and energy is released in the form of light. This effect is called electroluminescence and the color of the light is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor. The LED is usually small in area (less than 1 mm2) with integrated optical components to shape its radiation pattern and assist in reflection.
LEDs present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching.
Applications of LEDs are now very diverse. They are used as low-energy indicators but also for replacements for traditional light sources.
